Nathan Partain
Nathan has enjoyed making music for a long time. He learned to play drums at an early age, played French horn in the marching band and wrote, sang and played guitar in a garage band. On his way up to Seattle in 1999, Nathan’s uncle told him of his prayers that Nathan would write music for the church. Little did he know that soon he would be involved in the church band, playing the conga drums, and would begin rewriting hymns, many that were congregational and would go on to be a large part of the worship at Green Lake Presbyterian Church. He has since come to see these songs as prayers, sung to God through worship.
The Parlour Sessions is a recording of some of those songs, made in the summer of 2004 in Nathan’s living room. He is currently working on a follow-up album consisting of original hymns written in 2005 that were anthems played during the offering.
Nathan was formerly the Chief Musician at CrossPoint Churches (formerly GLPC), writing hymns and leading worship on Sunday mornings. He has just recently accepted the Pastor of Worship position at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Indianappolis and is in the process of moving across country with his wife, Sarah, and their young son, Amos.
